Description

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior experience as maintenance technician – strong understanding of equipment, tools, and maintenance procedures
  • Ability to manage maintenance budgets and control expenses
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.
  • Current first aid, CPR and AED Level C certification is considered an asset.
  • Current certification and experience of MHE – Forklift, Aerial Platform, Fall Protection, WHMIS, considered an asset
    Reports to: Operation Director
    Wage: $ 21.00/hour
    Hours: 37.5 hours per week
    Position: Full Time

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate all maintenance work as well as oversee Custodial requirements
  • Be a point of contact for security and fire monitoring for facility
  • Order and maintain adequate inventory of materials and supplies, for maintenance, repair and proper functioning of facilities and all assigned equipment including custodial supplies
  • Inspect assigned facility space/fixtures for deterioration, cleanliness and orderliness
  • Assure that all waste, recycling and debris are picked up and removed from building(s)and surrounding grounds
  • Museum, Event Hall and Education areas to be checked/cleaned daily as required
  • Floors to be cleaned weekly
  • Restoration Area to be kept clean/tidy and free of any hazardous materials (chemicals, paints, solvents etc.) Proper storage. Maintain work area to be free of potential or hazardous situations
  • Outside property to be kept clean, trimmed and tidy (grass cut, snow removal, garbage, debris etc.)
  • Maintain all non-trades requirements for all electrical, mechanical, plumbing etc.
  • Co-ordinate with City of Edmonton Facilities Maintenance any trades required work
  • Maintain Restoration Area shop equipment (saws, drills, routers, planners etc.) in good and safe working order
  • Review volunteer applications and interview for restoration volunteer positions only
  • Maintain all mobile support equipment (snowplough, forklifts, mules, skyjack, lawn tractor, etc.) in good and safe working order
  • Ensure health and safety practices are followed
  • Recommend security enhancements and arrange as required
  • Coordinate training and OH & S training to staff and/or volunteers
  • Co-ordinate volunteers to assist with any of the above
  • Source and contract with external suppliers/trades as required
  • Other duties as assigned.
