Description

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Thorough understanding of facility systems such as material handling, compressors air and chillers water.
  • Strong mechanical/electrical background with excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with PLC systems.
  • Basic knowledge of computer programming.
  • Must have experience with electrical, mechanical (required), pneumatic, plumbing and HVAC (optional).
  • Experience in plastics processing.
  • Must have the ability to be on-call for any shift as necessary (hours added as worked).
  • Must have knowledge of LOTO and Arc Flash.
  • Ability to read and interpret machine prints.
  • Must have good computer skills.
  • Must have familiarity with most hand and power tools.
  • Self-motivated and work with minimal supervision.
  • High school diploma/GED equivalent.
  • The ability to work with others.
  • Honest, dependable, and motivated.
  • Good problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Have a valid Driver’s license.
  • Must provide own hand tools.
  • Forklift certified.
  • Lift certified.
  • Crane certified.
  • Electrical certified.

PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to work around grease, oils, and solvents without adverse reactions.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and squat throughout entire shift.
  • Ability to work from heights, including ascending/descending ladders.
  • Ability to wear all provided personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to work in high noise environment.

Responsibilities
  • Investigate, develop, and implement activities to reduce machine downtime and optimize process efficiency.
  • Implement process improvements and PM’s to maximize production.
  • Work with Maintenance personnel to assist in troubleshooting.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and PLC problems.
  • Determine possible machine upgrades to further improve production.
  • Support new projects and make recommendations regarding new technology to improve product quality and productivity.
  • Interface with outside machine and automation vendors for the purpose of defining, designing, implementing, troubleshooting, and redefining processes.
  • Communicate with Engineering, Production, and Maintenance Departments at the local and corporate level.
  • Develop electrical and mechanical documentation, design modifications, and programs for equipment.
  • Develop, review, and implement work instructions as needed.
  • Develop training materials and assist with training of the maintenance staff.
  • Ensure that safety standers are met.
