JOB OVERVIEW

The Facilities Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the optimal operation and maintenance of our facilities. This position involves a combination of technical skills and hands-on experience to maintain equipment, troubleshoot issues, and ensure a safe working environment. Tasks will include performing routine and preventative maintenance on equipment, infrastructure, and grounds, as well as responding to urgent repair needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in facilities maintenance and mechanical knowledge. The role supports production continuity, workplace safety, and regulatory compliance.

SKILLS

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications are an asset
• Minimum 2 years of experience in facility or equipment maintenance.
• Proficiency with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) for automation tasks is an asset.
• Mechanical and Electrical experience with the ability to troubleshoot systems effectively.
• Proficient in English for clear communication with team members and management.
• Mechanical knowledge applicable to various manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Familiarity with manufacturing environments and their specific maintenance needs.
• Ability to read schematics for troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues
• Ability to perform building maintenance and upgrades
• Physical ability to lift, climb, and perform manual tasks.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.

• Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of facility systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment per the maintenance schedule.
• Perform repairs and upkeep on forklifts, compressors, laminators, pasters, dryers, and other production equipment.
• Monitor and maintain safety systems and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs and seasonal services.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
• Support insurance and compliance documentation by providing timely updates on equipment status.
• Respond to facility-related emergencies and troubleshoot issues promptly.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of maintenance tools and workspaces.
