Apply for the opportunity to join our team dedicated to preserving and protecting Texas waters. 1.0 Job Summary Responsible for managing all facets of the Texas City facilities. This includes the industrial WWTP, Landfarm, and Campbell Bayou Landfill. 2.0 Typical Duties and Responsibilities 2.1 Manage the operations of an industrial wastewater treatment plant including overseeing the treatment process, maintenance and repair, operations, and ensuring compliance with permits and regulations. 2.2 Select, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate assigned personnel. 2.3 Supervise and participate in activities related to ensuring compliance with local, state and federal regulations and permits including monitoring of facility treatment process, laboratory analytical program, and compliance reporting.. 2.4 Plan, prepare, implement, and monitor departmental budget. 2.5 Administer contracts with industrial customers including monitoring of pretreatment requirements and customer billing. 2.6 Communicate effectively with customers, regulatory agency personnel, vendors, local government officials, and GCA personnel. 2.7 Perform other related duties as assigned. 3.0 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 3.1 Ability to train others, delegates work, supervise and manage others. 3.2 Considerable knowledge of the operations and treatment processes of an industrial wastewater treatment facility. 3.3 Knowledge of TCEQ/EPA regulations and permits. 3.4 Knowledge of budgeting and financial principles and practices. 3.5 Knowledge of supervisory and management principles and practices. 3.6 Knowledge of GCA policies and procedures. 3.7 Ability to read/develop and understand technical reports, legal documents, correspondence and regulations. 3.8 Ability to perform complex mathematical calculations. 3.9 Ability to write reports, correspondence and documentation. 3.10 Ability to operate computer system including knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Microsoft Word software. 3.11 Ability to communicate orally, in-person, in writing and by telephone. 3.12 Ability to present information concisely in a public forum. 4.0 Environmental conditions 4.1 Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in extreme heat (100°F) and cold (32°F) in all weather conditions. 4.2 Work is performed indoors and outdoors at an industrial setting. 5.0 Education, certification, and experience required 5.1 Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field. 5.2 Experience in the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment facilities. 5.3 Experience supervising and managing other employees. 5.4 Valid Class “C” Texas Driver’s license. 6.0 Physical requirements 6.1 Ability to occasionally sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch/stoop, squat, and twist upper body while performing tasks such as working with files and moving around office. 6.2 Work involves performing job duties occasionally under tight deadlines and/or in non-standard situation. 6.3 Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle 6.4 Working extended hours as necessary. 7.0 Additional requirements per location 7.1 Knowledge of the operation at 40Acres 8.0 Summary The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by the person assigned to this job.
