Description:
Scimita Ventures is an innovation house that offers a range of technical and commercial services that synchronise together to de-risk and accelerate product development. Founded in 2017, Scimita has a strong track record of delivering scale-up and innovation projects in the energy, materials, and circular economy sectors.
We are currently seeking a Facility Manager / Workshop Manager to join our dynamic team and make critical contributions to our scale-up and innovation projects. This pivotal role ensure our project teams have the right equipment, spaces, and prototypes in-hand to successfully achieve their project outcomes.
The successful candidate will have generalised prototyping skills that enable them to work with third parties to deliver the physical solutions we require. The main project you will initially contribute to is focused on upscaling a novel technology for recycling lithium-ion batteries. Previous knowledge/experience in this are is not essential.
Responsibilities:
- Run our rapid prototyping workshop.
- Define the technical, safety, and client-related requirements for the equipment, consumables, spaces, prototypes, and products that are crucial to the development, testing, and scale-up activities completed in our deep tech projects.
- Maintain and troubleshoot our equipment, consumables, spaces, prototypes, and products.
- Form and maintain meaningful and mutually beneficial relationships with relevant third parties to bring our creations to life.
- Generate high-quality technical documentation such as specifications, design files, and testing reports for external clients and for the purposes of registering developed Intellectual Property.
- Conduct reviews of work submitted by project stakeholders, assessing technical accuracy and the adequacy of the solutions proposed.
- Contribute to our ongoing Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) activities.
- Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement in our prototyping and product development services.
