POSITION SUMMARY

The Production Facilities Sanitation Technician plays a key role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of our production environment and adjacent facility areas. Working under the direction of the Assistant Production Manager and in collaboration with the Quality Assurance team, this role ensures that operations continue uninterrupted and in full compliance with SOPs, Good Production Practices (GPP), and regulatory requirements under the Cannabis Act.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be 19 years of age or older.
  • Must be fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Clear criminal record.
  • WHMIS certification (or willingness to complete within 30 days of hire).
  • Experience in sanitation or janitorial work in a regulated or industrial setting (preferred).
  • Familiarity with GMP, GPP, or cleaning in a cannabis, food, or pharmaceutical environment is an asset.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Standing and walking for long periods of time.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, stooping, and reaching.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity and ability to use cleaning equipment.
  • Ability to safely navigate around equipment and within confined spaces.
  • Ability to respond to sounds and visual cues in a fast-paced environment.
  • Additional Conditions of Employment
  • Adherence to Good Production Practices (GPP) and facility SOPs.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the Cannabis Act and its regulations relevant to role.
  • Successfully complete all required training or certifications as mandated by Management.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding sensitive company information.
    Job Type: Part-time
    Pay: $22.40 per hour
    Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment in all production areas, adjacent rooms, common areas, washrooms, offices, entry/exit points, and hallways.
  • Follow a set sanitation schedule as per the Safety Plan and documented Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Clean high-touch surfaces and sanitize key contact points throughout the facility.
  • Replenish supplies such as hand towels, hand soap, toilet paper, and sanitizers.
  • Remove dust from vents, ledges, and fixtures; spot-clean walls and doors as needed.
  • Vacuum mats, mop floors, and clean windows and glass surfaces.
  • Maintain garbage bins and safely dispose of waste according to facility protocol.
  • Operate laundry equipment to ensure timely washing, drying, and folding of reusable facility items such as scrubs, lab coats, towels, and mop heads.
  • Ensure laundering of textiles follows hygiene protocols to prevent contamination.
  • Safely handle and apply industrial cleaning chemicals and use cleaning equipment in accordance with SOPs and safety guidelines.
  • Complete all cleaning logs and checklists accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Identify and report safety issues, facility damage, or supply shortages to the Prod. Manager.
  • Assist with pre-audit, post-audit, or emergency sanitation efforts as needed.
  • Follow WHMIS, Health & Safety, and company security policies at all times.
  • Participate in training sessions, daily team briefings, and facility inspections.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
