To achieve this state of success, the Facility and Security Specialist is responsible for maintaining the physical facility and ensuring its security through a variety of duties, including performing maintenance and repairs, overseeing security systems like access control and surveillance, responding to emergencies, managing vendors, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The role involves a combination of hands-on facility management and administrative tasks related to the security of the environment. Specific Accountabilities Facilities Management: Maintenance Coordination: Oversee daily facility operations, including scheduling preventative maintenance and repairs for building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.) and equipment. Vendor Management: Liaise with external contractors, service providers (e.g., cleaning crews, landscapers), and vendors to ensure services are performed according to contract terms and standards. Inspections and Audits: Conduct regular facility walkthroughs and inspections to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, and ensure overall site presentation and operational integrity. Inventory and Supplies: Manage inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and general office provisions. Logistics Support: Assist with space allocation, office moves, and event coordination logistics as requested. Security Management: Policy Implementation: Develop, implement, and enforce security policies, procedures, and protocols to safeguard personnel, assets, and property. System Monitoring: Monitor and operate physical security systems, including access control (key cards, etc.), surveillance cameras (CCTV), and alarm systems. Incident Response: Respond promptly to security incidents, breaches, and alarms, conducting initial investigations and documenting findings and corrective actions. Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal safety and security regulations (e.g., OSHA standards, TSA regulations, NISPOM for classified environments). Training and Awareness: Coordinate and deliver security awareness and emergency response training and briefings for employees. Liaison: Act as a point of contact for external entities such as local law enforcement, fire departments, and regulatory agencies. Requirements Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Experience: Typically 2+ years of experience in a facility, security, or a related role; prior military or law enforcement experience is often valued. Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, security management, or facilities management often preferred. Technical Skills: Familiarity with security technologies (CCTV, access control) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field or equivalent experience Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET)
