Description Facility Technician Lehigh Valley Public Media (PBS39 • WLVR • LehighValleyNews.com) Bethlehem, PA • On Site · Lehigh Valley Public Media is home to PBS39, WLVR 91.3 and LehighValleyNews.com. We are seeking a part-time facility technician for our facility at the Steel Stacks in South Bethlehem. The position will generally involve early morning hours but occasionally nights and weekends are required when events are being held. This role supports day-to-day operations by addressing minor repairs, performing preventative maintenance, and responding to maintenance requests as needed. Key Responsibilities · Responsible for the routine maintenance, repair, and upkeep of building facilities to ensure a safe, clean, and functional environment. · Perform routine building maintenance and minor repairs (e.g., plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting). · Conduct regular inspections of building systems and facilities to identify maintenance needs. · Respond promptly to maintenance requests and troubleshoot issues. · Maintain cleanliness and organization of mechanical rooms, storage areas, and common spaces. · Assist with seasonal tasks such as snow removal, landscaping, or exterior maintenance as needed. · Ensure compliance with safety standards and building regulations. · Maintain basic records of maintenance activities and supplies used. · Directs all outside contractors and ensures timely completion of work requirements. · Implement proper protocols to ensure safety and wellness in facility. · Manages building capital projects in conjunction with vendors. · Assists Production and Engineering in the set-up and breakdown of studios. · Support Events team for in-house programs. Requirements · SKILLS: o Ability to trouble shoot system issues and identify needed repairs. o Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. · KNOWLEDGE: o Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repair work. o Basic facility repair knowledge and understanding of how facility systems work. · EXPERIENCE: o At least five (5) years of facility/maintenance experience. o A technical degree or experience in plumbing, electrical or HVAC is helpful. o Previous experience in building maintenance, facilities, or a related trade preferred. · TRAITS: o Conscientious about the proper operation of facility systems. o Ability to improvise when called upon to adapt to changing situations. o Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
