Description
· Responsible for managing end-to-end factory operations to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective production, consistent product quality, statutory compliance, and optimal utilization of men, machines, and materials in line with management objectives. · Plan, coordinate, and control daily factory operations to achieve production targets and delivery commitments. · Ensure uninterrupted production through effective coordination with milling, maintenance, utilities, quality, and stores teams. · Monitor production efficiency, yields, wastage, downtime, and corrective actions on a daily basis. · Ensure adherence to quality standards, food safety requirements, and customer specifications. · Enforce strict compliance with safety norms, statutory regulations, and factory discipline. · Oversee preventive maintenance, breakdown response, and machine readiness in coordination with maintenance teams. · Control production costs through effective manpower planning, resource utilization, and waste reduction. · Ensure proper handling, storage, and movement of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods within the factory. · Monitor housekeeping, hygiene, and 5S practices across the plant premises. · Review shift reports, production data, incident reports, and operational MIS regularly. · Investigate operational issues, deviations, accidents, or losses and implement corrective and preventive actions. · Coordinate with HR, accounts, security, and administration teams to ensure smooth factory functioning. · Support audits, inspections, and visits by statutory authorities, customers, and management. · Drive continuous improvement initiatives in productivity, safety, quality, and cost control. · Ensure discipline, accountability, and performance monitoring of all factory personnel. Requirements · Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Production / Industrial Engineering · Post-graduation in Operations / Management will be an added advantage · 15–20 years of experience in factory / plant operations · Minimum 5–7 years in a senior managerial role · Prior experience in a large-scale manufacturing unit, preferably flour mill / food processing industry · Strong exposure to production control, safety, statutory compliance, and manpower management · KEY COMPETENCIES : Strong operational and production management skills · Cost consciousness and result orientation · Leadership and people management ability · Strong understanding of safety, statutory, and compliance requirements · Problem-solving and decision-making skills · Ability to work under pressure in a 24×7 plant environment · High integrity, discipline, and ownership mind-set · Effective coordination and communication skills · KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS Achievement of production targets with optimal efficiency and yield · Product quality consistency and compliance with food safety standards · Plant safety performance and statutory compliance adherence · Control over downtime, wastage, and operational costs · Housekeeping, hygiene, and 5S implementation across the factory · People management effectiveness and inter-departmental coordination Benefits Industrial standards
