We have a great opportunity for an Operative to join our team. The role will involve conducting all work within the Metal area in the Factory to a high standard.
EXPERIENCE & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
· Team player with exceptional level of communication skills
· Experienced in road traffic sign manufacture, sheet metal and/ or light engineering desirable.
· Accuracy with a tape measure (must)
· Welding and fabrication experience (advantageous)
· IT literate
· Manual Handling, Abrasive Wheels, First Aid training required as part of the role.
40 hours per week, 8am - 5pm Monday to Friday
Overtime available
8 days bank holiday + 20 days per year (once accrued)
Salary Range £26k to £34k depending on experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £26,000.00-£34,000.00 per year

MAIN JOB PURPOSE
The main purpose of the Factory Operative is to assist in the production of road traffic signs to the highest possible standard inline with timescales set.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
NB – Not all operatives will carry out all tasks as detailed on this list depending on area of specialism, e.g. metal, layout, street name plates, printing etc.
· Cutting and shaping of sheet metal to produce a sign to correct design using a guillotine and corner notching tool.
· Cutting channel (channel saw)
· Riveter (riveting machine)
· Surface preparation.
· Complete and sign off final metal inspection ensuring that the design requirements have been met.
· Recycled plastic department, cutting, drilling and fixing plates to pre-cut boards.
· Ensures that all activities are finished in accordance with the planning/database schedules and to the required quality levels.
· To work in line with Health & Safety policies and procedures
· Other ad hoc duties as directed by your line manager
