Obelisk Interiors is a Dubai-based fit-out company specializing in premium interior projects across residential, commercial, and hospitality sectors. As part of our expansion, we are establishing a new joinery factory in the UAE to support our growing pipeline of projects. We are seeking an experienced and proactive professional to lead the entire setup process, from licensing to operational readiness.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience in setting up or managing manufacturing or joinery/woodwork factories in the UAE.
  • Strong knowledge of UAE licensing procedures, labor laws, and government requirements.
  • Established network/contacts with free zones, municipalities, and regulatory authorities.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver results under tight deadlines.
  • Fluency in English; Arabic is a plus.
  • UAE driving license preferred.

Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Factory Setup & Licensing Manager will be responsible for overseeing and executing all activities required to establish the joinery facility. This includes business licensing, regulatory approvals, factory setup, staffing coordination, and ensuring compliance with UAE laws and standards. The successful candidate will act as the primary point of contact with government entities, free zones, suppliers, and contractors, ensuring a smooth and timely launch of the factory.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the complete process of setting up the joinery factory, from initial planning to operational handover.
  • Handle all government documentation, trade license applications, and approvals with relevant authorities (DED, Free Zone, Municipality, Civil Defense, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, fire safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Identify and secure the factory premises, utilities, and power requirements.
  • Coordinate with contractors for fit-out, machinery installation, and facility readiness.
  • Liaise with suppliers for machinery, equipment, and material procurement.
  • Recruit and onboard required manpower in coordination with management.
  • Develop workflow systems, production processes, and compliance checklists for factory operation.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to company directors on progress, challenges, and timelines.
