Summary:  It is expected that the classroom teacher will be a Christ follower who will plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.  Experience/Education/Certifications:  The ability to meet ACSI Accreditation and state requirements for education and  experience.  Maintain a clear background check.  Flexibility as to the hours and schedule of work.  Spiritually:  Be a Christ follower.  Motivate students to accept God’s gift of salvation, and be a Christian witness and role model to them in order to help them grow in their faith.  Ensure that the classroom work environment is Christian-based, nurturing, wholesome and loving.  Carry out Christ-centered counseling with students, parents, and staff.  Actively involved in a church.  Academic/Administrative Responsibilities:  * Teach subjects and classes as assigned following the prescribed scope and sequence through approved curriculum, supplementary materials, field trips, special guests, etc.. to enhance the learning experience, reaching the whole child.  * Integrate biblical principles and the Christian worldview throughout the curriculum and learning activities.  * Plan broadly through the use of semester and quarterly plans and objectives from which specific weekly lesson plans are created.  * Use homework effectively for drill, review or enrichment.  * Respond within 24 hours to parent complaints and requests for help or information. Participate in parent-teacher conferences scheduled or upon request.  * Be available to conference/help parents or students before and after school as requested. Provide a good learning environment by maintaining proper classroom discipline per the school-wide * discipline system; taking care of minor problems personally and referring continual, major, and minor issues to the Dean of Students or Principal.  * Maintain a physical presence with the students by attending and/or participating in school chapels, assemblies, athletic/fine arts events, and other presentations.  * Supervise extracurricular activities, organizations, outings, etc.. as assigned by Administration. Inform the administration in a timely manner if unable to fulfill an assigned duty.  * Assist assigned substitute teachers to successfully carry out their responsibilities by providing required procedures and planning documentation.  * Participate in pre- and post-planning, staff devotionals, staff meetings, professional development, State of the Academy, and other meetings/programs as assigned.  * Respect professional ethics that require confidentiality concerning the sharing of information about students, parents, or staff.  * Keep students, parents, and the administration adequately informed of student progress or deficiencies and give sufficient notice of student failure.  * Accurately maintain the following in a timely manner- Permanent File Records, Canvas/RenWeb (Gradebook, Mid-term Progress Reports, Quarterly Report Cards, Attendance Records, Medical Emergency Information and Discipline Updates), Lesson Plans, Administration of Achievement Tests, and Inventories (equipment, supplies, books etc..)  Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:  Problem Solving  Verbal Communication  Ability to effectively interact with students, peers, faculty and parents  Technology  Employees must have proficient computer skills (Log in/out, Email, Use Google Suite, Music Videos on Google Drive etc..)  Use RenWeb/Canvas/Curriculum Trak (Attendance, Grade & Progress Reports, Email, Medical Emergency Information, Discipline Updates, Lesson Plans)  Work Styles:  Attention to Detail: Job requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks. Dependability: Job requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling job obligations. Cooperation: Job requires being pleasant with others on the job and displaying a good-natured, cooperative attitude.  Analytical Thinking: Job requires analyzing information and using logic to address work-related issues and problems.  Integrity: Job requires being honest and ethical.  Stress Tolerance: Job requires accepting criticism and dealing calmly and effectively with high stress situations. Adaptability/Flexibility: Job requires being open to change (positive and negative) and to considerable variety in the workplace.  Self-Control: Job requires maintaining composure, keeping emotions in check, controlling anger, and avoiding aggressive behavior, even in very difficult situations.  Independence: Job requires developing one’s own ways of doing thins, guiding oneself with little or no supervision, and depending on oneself to things done.  Initiative: Job requires a willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges.
