Faculty, Department of Anaesthesiology Entity: Aga Khan University Location: Karachi, Pakistan Introduction: Aga Khan University, chartered in 1983 as Pakistan's first private international university, is committed to the provision of education, research and health care of international standard relevant to Pakistan and the region. The affiliated Aga Khan University Hospital has well-equipped investigative services and provides state-of-the-art clinical facilities. The Department of Anaesthesiology provides anaesthetic management for all procedures on a 24-hour basis, including emergency care. Pre-operative anaesthesia assessment is accomplished through the outpatient Anaesthesia Clinic and on-call in-patient consultations. The Department offers special expertise in Paediatric, Cardiothoracic, Neurosurgical, Vascular and Anaesthesia for Surgical Day Cases. The Department also provides continuing critical care services through the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). In addition, Department of Anaesthesia runs acute and chronic pain services. Aga Khan University invites application for Faculty position in the Department of Anaesthesiology. Responsibilities: You will have an independent consultant status for patient care across the Aga Khan University health system. You will be expected to undertake undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, research and potentially specified administrative activities including strategic leadership and clinical advancement for the Department of Anaesthesiology. Requirements: You must have completed a structured post-graduate training program and possess FCPS, MRCP, FRCA, American Boards or equivalent qualification. Fellowship in Anaesthesiology will be an advantage. Applicants for Senior Instructor require 1-2 years of experience in a reputable institution. Applicants for Assistant Professor should have at least 2 years’ experience as Senior Instructor or equivalent in a HEC recognized University or postgraduate institution, and a minimum of 4 research publications in journals recognized jointly by HEC and PMDC. Applicants for Associate Professor should have at least 8 years of teaching / research experience in a HEC recognized University or postgraduate institution, with 5 years’ post-terminal experience of teaching and a minimum of 15 research publications in journals recognized jointly by HEC and PMDC.
