Description
The Department of Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine, University of Pittsburgh, is seeking a full-time Assistant Professor in the appointment stream. The incumbent will contribute to the academic mission of the Department of Medicine and the School of Medicine as a POCUS Center Lead. The incumbent’s duties will include acting as a POCUS Center Lead. In this role, they will participate in the implementation of a school-wide curriculum, will contribute to program design, with an eye toward innovation, quality, publication, and reputation for our POCUS educational program, and help prepare our graduates for the utilization of ultrasound within their respective fields. Work closely with the POCUS Center Director, Dr. Emily Lovallo, and the recruited Associate Director. Contribute to the design and implementation of the department’s program. General rank requirements: Applicants for Assistant Professor, non-tenure, should have three or more years of experience in related scientific research; have obtained or demonstrate the ability to obtain external research funding; have disseminated results through peer-reviewed publications and other scientific forums; have significant teaching experience; and demonstrate the capacity for sustained career development, promotion, and tenure. Qualified candidates must have an MD degree in the field of internal medicine and experience in clinical instruction and training of medical students, residents, and fellows. Preference will be given to candidates with 1 or more years of relevant experience and who demonstrate the capacity for career development and promotion.
