The University of Pittsburgh, Ophthalmology Department, is searching for a Translational Research Associate Professor, appointment-stream position. The incumbent will provide strategic leadership to advance the department's translational research mission through external partnerships, faculty grant advisory activities, and coordination of strategic research initiatives. The role focuses on building and managing collaborations with industry, foundations, nonprofits, and government sponsors to accelerate therapeutic development and research impact. This position reports to the Vice Chair and Director of Research and supports departmental and institutional priorities by aligning scientific programs with translational, regulatory, and partnership opportunities. The Director serves as a senior scientific and strategic resource to faculty, research leadership, and external partners. Minimum experience: 7 + years in the scientific field with 5 + years of strategic leadership in advancing external partnerships and developing a translational Research mission in Ophthalmology.
