University Hospitals of North Midlands is currently unable to provide sponsorship for Band 2 and Band 3 roles. This is in accordance with UKVI guidelines and legislation, as these roles do not meet the skill nor salary threshold for sponsorship. If you hold a graduate visa, you are welcome to apply for this role however it is important to note that UHNM will be unable to offer sponsorship at the end of your graduate visa, you must also have at least six months until your graduate visa expires at the start of your employment for training and operational reasons.
The Failsafe Officer will be responsible for monitoring and validating the outpatient (OPWL) and inpatient (IPWL) waiting lists within the Ophthalmology Department. This role will ensure that the waiting lists are accurate, up-to-date, and that patients receive timely treatment. The post-holder will support the Junior Operations Manager with generating and managing reports related to patient activity and waiting times.
This role will be instrumental in maintaining the efficiency of the Ophthalmology Department, ensuring patients receive timely care and that operational processes run smoothly.
Regularly review and validate both outpatient and inpatient waiting lists (OPWL and IPWL) to ensure accuracy and compliance with departmental standards and operational guidelines.
Contact patients to confirm, reschedule, or reorganise their appointments in line with departmental requirements and available resources
Liaise with clinicians, management teams, and other departments to highlight any issues or concerns regarding patient waiting lists and overall patient activity.
Assist in generating regular reports on waiting list activity, ensuring timely and accurate data is provided to senior management.
Ensure compliance with relevant NHS policies, patient safety standards, and quality assurance protocols
