OVERVIEW:

Altus Safety is a leading, national, working-at-height subcontractor specialising in permanent roof access & fall protection equipment.
The role of a roof access and fall protection testing engineer is to, test, maintain and repair fall arrest/restraint equipment such as mansafe systems, guardrail edge protection systems, fixed access ladders and rope access anchors.

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong and proven experience in engineering and working at heights with good experience of various small hand tools and battery-operated tools.
  • A good level of communication skills both written & verbal (A good level of English is essential).
  • Good planning/problem solving skills and management of risk.
  • Team player with flexible and dynamic approach to all tasks.
  • Physical fitness.
  • The ability to work at height.
  • High level of personal pride and be driven to succeed.
  • CSCS Card
  • Full Clean Driving Licence
  • WAH training.
  • Pasma.
  • Rescue Training.
Responsibilities
  • Inspection and Maintenance of roof access and fall protection equipment on construction sites and live buildings in accordance with the applicable British Standards and the manufacturers guidelines.
  • Care and maintenance of all company equipment and materials.
  • Care and maintenance of the company van.
  • Following method statements and risk assessments and site-specific safety regulations and
  • Complying with strict Company and industry policies and regulations.
  • An ability to analyse and resolve mechanical/technical problems.
  • Work with a safety-first mentality.
  • Complete all digital audits accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Communicate professionally with all team members, site clients and other contractors ensuring the company is always well represented.
