FAMILIES FIRST PARENTING PRACTITIONER

Location: Barry
Pay: £16.72 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract: Full-time, 37 hours per week (Monday–Friday, Hybrid: 4 days office / 1 day home)
Seven Social Care are seeking a dedicated Families First Parenting Practitioner to support children, young people, and their families in Barry. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference while working within current local and national guidance.

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience: Direct experience supporting children, young people, and families in a professional role.
  • Qualifications: Relevant qualification in social care, education, health, youth work, or equivalent experience.
  • Compliance: Enhanced DBS, Right to Work in the UK, registration with Social Care Wales.
  • Other: Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver positive parenting support, advice, and programmes in partnership with parents/carers and external agencies.
  • Act as lead facilitator for parenting programmes, co-facilitating with colleagues and partner organisations.
  • Manage a caseload of 1:1 targeted interventions that promote and support positive parenting, underpinned by assessments and Family Plans.
  • Undertake service user assessments, including needs and risk assessments, to inform casework planning in line with service and national standards.
