Your Impact as a Family Advocate The Family Advocate serves as a key resource for families navigating healthcare-related processes, providing guidance, support, and coordination to ensure a smooth and successful experience. This role involves assisting families through CNA school, supporting pending patients, obtaining medical documentation, coordinating care, and ensuring compliance throughout the onboarding process. Additionally, the Family Advocate plays an integral role in retention efforts, customer service, and operational support. Key Responsibilities Family Support & Advocacy: Assist families in enrolling and successfully completing CNA school. Support pending patients in obtaining necessary medical documentation, therapy notes, and care plans. Help families find supplemental services, including Medicaid assistance and other community resources. Advocate for families to ensure they receive the necessary care and services. Care Coordination & Compliance: Facilitate the onboarding process for families and ensure compliance up until handoff to HR. Maintain accurate records and ensure all required documentation is complete. Collaborate with healthcare providers, social workers, and administrative teams to coordinate care. Ensure retention efforts are in place to support long-term engagement and satisfaction. Customer Service & Communication: Provide compassionate and professional customer service to a fragile and diverse population. Maintain strong attention to detail while handling sensitive information. Draft and distribute newsletters to keep families informed of resources and updates. Address Medicaid-related issues and help families navigate insurance processes. Operational Support & Community Engagement: Assist the operations team with administrative and compliance-related tasks. Participate in occasional events to support community engagement and awareness efforts. Foster a positive and supportive workplace culture, serving as a “culture fix” within the team. Adapt to changing priorities with flexibility and a problem-solving mindset. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in social work, healthcare administration, or a related field preferred. Experience: Previous experience in healthcare advocacy, customer service, sales, social work, or operations support is highly preferred. Skills: Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to work with sensitive and fragile populations with compassion. Knowledge of Medicaid and other healthcare assistance programs is a plus. Ability to multitask and adapt to a fast-paced environment. Schedule and Work Environment Flexible schedule with event participation required.
