Compassionate Neighbours is a registered charity serving seniors and caregivers in Chilliwack and the surrounding area through one-to-one and group activities and programs. Thanks to the Province of BC and United Way, we have received funding to expand Caregiver support through a Family & Friend Caregiver Support Program. This role will beunder the direction of the Executive Director or a delegated Supervisor, ensuring grant deliverables.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Preference is for candidates with a Diploma in Human Services or Certificate as Community Support Worker or Health Care Worker
• A minimum of one year of experience working or volunteering in the Social Services Sector or with Indigenous communities in a culturally safe way
• A combination of lived experience, work and education will be considered
• Knowledge of the history of Indigenous peoples in Canada and the impacts of colonization is an asset
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, group team building and facilitation skill
• Experience with financial reconciliation and budgets
• Adherence to the Society’s hiring and screening protocols including reference checks and a Criminal Record Check for the Vulnerable Sector
• Possess a Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence
• Agreement of Compassionate Neighbours’ (Compassionate Neighbourhood Health Partners Society) Vision, Mission and Core Values (see About tab)
• Eligible to work in Canada at the time the application is submitted

• One to One Support and Referrals
• Caregiver Support Group(s)
• Healthcare System Navigation
• Connection to Community Services
• Knowledge and Skill Enhancement
• Holiday Meals (Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas)
• Outreach to Elder
