The certified Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher/substitute teacher in this position is responsible for helping to create a learning environment that provides specialized instruction for a small group student who may need: 1:1 and/or small group instruction, lessons & activities for a variety of learning styles, and someone who is patient and flexible. The Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher will: Teach family relations and human development, including parenting education. Provide instruction in child care and development, handling children with special needs, and managing family economics and resources. Teach crisis intervention in families and develop skills for working with diverse family situations Hours: M-F, 8:00-2:30, 1/2 lunch, hourly rates from $40-$44 depending on experience NJ Sick hours offered & Retire Ready NJ optional Job Type: Part time position that could lead to a full-time teaching position! Responsibilities include: Help to develop lesson plans, assignments and activities that reflect individual needs, goals, and objectives. Establish and follow routine and schedule to provide maximum learning time. Establish and maintain an environment conducive to learning. Utilize appropriate curricula, materials, and behavioral techniques. Complete all required paperwork in a professional and timely manner. Always supervise students in the classroom.
