FAMILY LAW CLERK

GGFI Law is seeking an experienced Family Law Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in family law, strong knowledge of the Family Law Rules and court procedures, and the ability to manage complex files with skill and efficiency.
While family law expertise is the top priority, experience in other practice areas, such as civil litigation, will be considered an asset.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Graduate of a Law Clerk program from a recognized institution
  • Substantial experience in family law at a reputable law firm
  • Solid understanding of the Family Law Rules and court procedures
  • Experience with Divorcemate, PC Law, Soluno, and other law firm software (training provided as needed)
  • Excellent time management, organization, and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to proofread legal documents accurately
  • Interpersonal skills that foster positive client and team relationships

Responsibilities

The successful:

  • Oversee all aspects of multiple active family law files with minimal supervision
  • Prepare and draft family law documents, including financial statements, pleadings, and court forms
  • Screen new clients and gather initial information
  • Triage and respond appropriately to incoming correspondence
  • Request, review, and manage third-party records
  • Communicate with clients in a professional, empathetic, and responsive manner
  • Diarize deadlines electronically and ensure timely follow-ups
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings and court appearances
  • Handle digital file organization, scanning, and administrative tasks
  • Collaborate with lawyers and clerks to ensure seamless service to clients
