Our team continues to grow! We are seeking an experienced Legal Assistant / Law Clerk to join our Family Law Department at our Barrie location.
The ideal candidate will have 3 years of relevant experience as a Family Law Assistant / Clerk, including experience with respect to the responsibilities outlined below;

Responsibilities of this role include:

  • Performing general administrative support related to files including opening files, preparation of accounts and client billings, reporting on matters, processing of payments, maintaining an active filing system and closing files;
  • Organizing and overseeing lawyer’s calendar;
  • Draft correspondence and court documents;
  • Draft and analyze financial statements and disclosures;
  • Correspond with opposing counsel and court offices;
  • Understanding of the Family Law Rules and local practice direction

The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, strong attention to detail and the ability to assist in resolving complex problems as required. Working in a team environment with experienced Law Clerks, Assistants and Lawyers, you will be responsible for handling legal work related to family law matters. A great attitude and emphasis on client experience is a must. Program specific IT training will be provided through our in-house IT staff, as required, on an ongoing basis.
