REQUIREMENTS
- 3+ years of experience in a law firm environment (Required).
- 2+ years of experience in family law (Required).
- Proficiency in using Clio or similar case management software (Preferred).
- Strong knowledge of legal procedures and family law practices, including court filing systems.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all work.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Family Law Paralegal to join a dynamic and fast-paced law firm. This role requires expertise in litigation, discovery, trial preparation, and case management, as well as proficiency in managing client databases and providing administrative support. You will play a critical role in supporting attorneys in family law cases and ensuring efficient case workflows.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist attorneys with litigation processes, including drafting, filing, and responding to discovery requests.
- Manage case files, organize trial exhibits, and prepare materials for court proceedings.
- Conduct legal research and summarize findings for attorney review.
- Handle case management tasks, including maintaining deadlines and schedules for hearings, depositions, and other case-related events.
- Maintain and update client records using Clio or similar case management software.
- Draft correspondence, pleadings, motions, and legal documents related to family law matters such as custody, divorce, support, and property division.
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and other stakeholders to facilitate case progress.
- Provide administrative support, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and handling billing-related tasks.
