JOB SUMMARY
My Client is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Family Solicitor to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of family law and demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills. This role involves providing legal advice and representation to clients on various family-related matters, ensuring that their needs are met with professionalism and empathy.
REQUIREMENTS
- Qualified solicitor with a valid practising certificate.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey complex legal information clearly.
- Proficient IT skills for managing case files and documentation efficiently.
- Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Empathy and understanding when dealing with sensitive family matters.

Required Skills and Experience
- 2–3 years PQE in UK family law (post-qualification experience).
- Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) or equivalent (Legal Executive with substantial PQE may be considered).
- Proven ability to manage own caseload with appropriate supervision; strong time management and organizational skills.
- Solid knowledge of family law practice areas: divorce and related financial remedy, private child law, domestic arrangements, and nuptial/cohabitation agreements.
- Excellent drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills; strong client care and communication abilities.
- Competent in court-room advocacy skills appropriate to your level; willingness to develop higher rights of audience as training permits.
- Proficiency with case management systems, document management, and standard office software (Microsoft 365, case management tools).
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
- Resilient, team-oriented, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and business development.
Desirable
- Experience in mediation or ADR and/or training in alternative dispute resolution.
- Familiarity with the local Merseyside courts and practitioners.
- Membership of a professional body such as Resolution (or a willingness to join).
Qualifications
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales (or equivalent) with 2–3 years PQE in family law.
- Solicitors must hold valid practising certificate.
