We are hiring a Family Lawyer with a minimum of 4 years of family law experience, including litigation experience. The candidate will be on a 50/50 fee split to start with a partnership opportunity for the right candidate.
This is also a completely remote position, with the exception of court appearances or mediation as necessary.
It is extremely flexible in terms of hours, so you can essentially work whenever you want to!
Although we are extremely collaborative, the candidate must be able to take on relatively complex client files without supervision.
Must be licensed in BC with good standing.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of 4 years experiences in family law is required.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to advocate effectively for clients.
  • Excellent research skills with proficiency in legal research tools.
  • Exceptional writing skills for drafting clear and concise legal documents.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.

Responsibilities
  • Represent clients in all aspects of family law cases.
  • Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as LexisNexis to support case strategies.
  • Draft all types of legal documents, including applications and agreements with high attention to detail.
  • Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients to achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of family law practices and jurisprudence.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to explain legal processes and provide updates on case progress.
  • Collaborate with other legal professionals and support staff as needed.
