Description Job Summary: The Family Life Coordinator serves as the parish’s Relationship Culture Team (RCT) Leader, responsible for implementing the Pastor’s vision for evangelization through marriage, family life, and healthy relationships. In collaboration with parish leadership and Communio Church Strategists, this position leads the parish’s relationship and marriage ministry using Communio’s Data-Informed, Full-Circle Relationship Ministry® model, guiding individuals and families from outreach to ongoing formation and missionary discipleship. This role is the point person for relationship, marriage, and family evangelization, responsible for coordinating ministry planning, volunteer leadership, data tracking, and program execution aligned with the parish Mission Plan. This is a part-time position, generally fewer than 20 hours per week, with flexibility required for some evenings and weekends. The position reports directly to the Pastor and operates with appropriate supervision, exercising initiative, sound judgment, and collaborative leadership. Ministerial Character The Pastor is the visible principle and foundation of unity at St. Mary Catholic Church - Temple, Texas which the Bishop has entrusted to him. He makes Christ’s mission present and enduring in the parish. To fulfill his mission, the Pastor employs suitable, chosen collaborators (clerics, religious, or lay people). He shares his mission with them and entrusts various responsibilities to them. Positions employed at St. Mary Catholic Church - Temple, Texas help to extend the ministry of the Pastor in particular ways as outlined in the job description. Therefore, the employee in this position is closely connected to and assists the Pastor in the performance of his ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the Church. Core Responsibilities Relationship Culture Team Leadership Serve as the Relationship Culture Team (RCT) Leader, coordinating and executing the parish’s relationship and marriage evangelization strategy. Schedule, lead, and facilitate regular RCT meetings focused on relational connection, evaluation of ministry effectiveness, and advancement of the parish Mission Plan. Facilitate semi-annual ministry review meetings and ongoing evaluation of goals and outcomes. Maintain regular communication with Communio Church Strategists, including monthly coaching meetings. Support the Pastor in communicating and embedding the parish’s vision for marriage, family life, and relationship health. Provide feedback and “cultural temperature checks” to parish leadership regarding relationship and family life ministry. Marriage & Relationship Evangelization Lead and oversee marriage preparation as an integrated part of the parish’s broader relationship evangelization strategy. Coordinate and manage the Witness to Love (WTL) marriage preparation program. Conduct engaged couple orientations and assessments (e.g., Prepare–Enrich), or train and supervise qualified volunteers to assist. Organize and coordinate engaged couple retreats and formation experiences. Promote Natural Family Planning (NFP) as part of marriage formation. Foster a prayerful, pastoral, and evangelizing environment that supports couples at all stages of relationship and family life. Mission Planning & Data Stewardship Maintain and periodically recalibrate the parish’s Relationship & Marriage Mission Plan. Track and report key quantitative and qualitative ministry data, including participation, engagement, and movement along the engagement ladder. Collect and steward stories of transformation and impact from ministry participants. Collaborate with parish staff to ensure ministry efforts are aligned with parish priorities and capacity. Outreach, Programming & Event Leadership Lead or coordinate outreach events, ongoing engagement opportunities, and growth journeys for couples and families in alignment with Communio’s ministry model. Assist parish ministries and organizations in integrating relationship and family formation into their existing programs (“relationship infusion”). Plan, promote, and coordinate an annual calendar of relationship, marriage, and family programming. Collaborate on internal promotion and communication of ministry opportunities through parish channels. Volunteer Recruitment & Leadership Development Recruit, train, and support volunteer leaders, sponsor couples, and ministry teams. Build sustainable ministry systems through shared leadership and clear delegation. Develop volunteer recruitment strategies in collaboration with parish leadership and Communio Strategists. Supervise volunteers involved in retreats, programs, and ministry events. Administrative & Professional Responsibilities Prepare and administer a proposed annual ministry budget in collaboration with parish leadership. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to ministry participation and outcomes. Attend staff meetings as required. Maintain a flexible part-time work schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed. Pursue ongoing spiritual, personal, and professional formation. Adhere to diocesan policies, especially Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM), and ensure compliance for volunteers. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in Theology, Pastoral Ministry, Religious Education, or a related field. Three to five years of parish or ministry experience working with adults and families. Practicing Roman Catholic in good standing. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn parish management systems. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise pastoral discretion. Licenses & Compliance Valid Texas driver’s license. Ongoing compliance with Diocese of Austin Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) policies throughout employment.
