Description WHN is looking for a Full-Time Family Medicine Physician to practice at its Hope, Indiana facility. The practice has a small-town, rural feel to it, but is located just 12 minutes from Columbus, Indiana and just 45 minutes from Downtown Indianapolis. **** WHN plans to add a full-time Board-Certified (or Board Eligible) Family Medicine physician to its medical staff at its Windrose Health Network – Hope facility in the Fall of 2023. The Physician will provide medical services including, but not limited to: acute care, re-evaluations, management of chronic conditions, and may include (depending on candidate’s specialty & professional interests) areas such as prenatal care, GYN care, and/or pediatric care such as well-child checks, and vaccination updates (WHN is a Vaccines for Children site). Full-time physicians work 35 clinical hours per week over 4 to 4.5 days per week and do not provide inpatient care (outpatient care only). Full benefits and a CME allowance are also part of the employment agreement. Loan Forgiveness is available. As an FQHC, WHN offers malpractice protection under the Federal Torts Claims Act - - Section 224 of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C. 233). Primary Call Coverage is provided by a Nurse Triage Service called Team Health. Secondary Call coverage is shared with other WHN providers and split between Pediatricians and FM providers (0-12; 13+ respectively) and is expected to be a 1:10 or 1:11 on-call rotation on both weekdays and weekends. **** Five rural counties in central Indiana, (Johnson, Shelby, Bartholomew, Brown & Morgan), along with the southern quarter of Marion County comprise WHN's Service Area. This area has a total population of 441,265; an estimated 93,926 people, (21%), have incomes below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. The population is largely “Caucasian”, but Latino and Asian populations have grown rapidly in the past 7-10 years. The town of Hope is located about midway between the city of Shelbyville (18 miles N of Hope) and the city of Columbus (15 miles SW of Hope) the latter of which is a city of approx. 46,000 people and is a prosperous engineering & manufacturing town. Also nearby are the cities of Greenwood (pop. 50,000) and Franklin (pop. 24,000). Indianapolis is less than 1 hour away and the cities of Louisville and Cincinnati less than 2 hours away. Although Johnson County has one of the highest median family income rates in the State of Indiana, the southern portion of Johnson County experiences economic difficulties. The Edinburgh School Corporation has one of the five lowest per capita incomes in Indiana. The economy of the service area is dominated by small businesses, many of whom have experienced economic hardships despite the recent improvement in the nation’s economy. Similarly, Bartholomew County is as financially prosperous as Johnson County. Yet it has small towns whose economic wherewithal is significantly less than the county median. Indianapolis is a prosperous and growing city with a lot of opportunity. It has routinely been nominated as one of America’s “most liveable” big cities. **** Although Hope, Indiana is a small, rural town, it is located just 12 minutes away from Columbus, Indiana which is a very metropolitan city of about 50,000. That city and the surrounding area (Bartholomew County) are served by Columbus Regional Hospital, which is a 198 bed tertiary care hospital. As a result, it has a full complement of diagnostic services and specialists on-staff. Additionally, Franciscan St. Francis Health is a 459 bed full-service hospital that is located just 40 minutes north of Columbus. Finally, Columbus is located just 50-60 minutes from the specialty hospitals of Indianapolis, including IU Medical Center, Riley's Children's Hospital, Peyton Manning Children's Hospital, and Eskenazi Health Center which is a Level 1 Trama Center. WHN's Hope facility is ideally staffed with 1 Pediatrician, 2 Family Medicine Physicians, 1 Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner, and 1 LMHC. Requirements Requires MD or DO degree, completion of Family Medicine Residency Program and eligibility for State of Indiana Medical License Board Certification is preferred, but at a minimum Board Eligibility is required.

Responsibilities
