Seeking full-time Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner to join Bay Community Health

  • Must be licensed or able to become licensed within the State of Maryland
  • Must have valid DEA/CDS
  • at least 5 years of family medicine and/or pediatric experience
  • 3+ years experience with electronic medical records (EMR)

Responsible for the provision of a full range of primary care patient services consistent with the Scope of Practice allowed by the State of Maryland. Under the general supervision of the Chief Medical Officer:

  • Assess patient health and provide professional compassionate care by interviewing patients; performing physical examinations; obtaining, updating, and studying medical histories; reviewing and interpreting test results.
  • Recommend diagnostic or therapeutic interventions with attention to safety, cost, invasiveness, acceptability, adherence to policy, and efficacy.
  • Provide accurate, timely documentation of patient encounters in the computerized software system.
  • Perform therapeutic procedures as needed such as administering injections and immunizations; suturing; managing wounds and infections.
  • Instruct and counsel patients by describing therapeutic regimens; giving normal growth and development information; discussing family planning; providing counseling on emotional problems of daily living; promoting wellness and health maintenance.
  • Provide continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans.
  • Assist in the development, implementation and enforcement of clinical guidelines and participates as a member of the provider team available to BCH patients.

Bay Community Health (formerly known as Owensville Primary Care) is a multi-site Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with NCQA Accreditation as a Patient Centered Medical Home- Level 3 with Distinction.
BCH provides primary care and behavioral health services for all ages, serving a diverse demographic population in Maryland, including the under and uninsured. BCH sites are located in southern Anne Arundel County Maryland, a lovely waterfront and rural community. We are centrally located to Annapolis, Baltimore, Washington DC, and the eastern shore of Maryland.
