About the Position * Position Title Family Outreach & Wellness Project Coordinator * Job Type Full Time -Temp- 37.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday) * Department Mental Health & Family Wellbeing * Reports to Manager, Mental Health and Family Wellbeing SUMMARY OF ROLE Reporting to the Manager, Mental Health & Family Wellbeing, this role works closely with the Mental Health Team, IFO Co-Facilitator, and volunteers to lead and coordinate the Family Outreach & Wellness Project, supporting the mental health and wellbeing of newcomer families in Calgary. Using a holistic, culturally responsive, and activity-based approach, the coordinator designs and facilitates programming that strengthens individual and family resilience while fostering positive connections within and between families. The role provides direct client support, system navigation, and community outreach, while ensuring effective program delivery, continuous improvement, and alignment with broader mental health services. Primary Duties & Responsibilities Program Leadership & Facilitation • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate culturally appropriate, activity-based programming for families • Design and adapt services to meet evolving client and community needs • Recruit and engage participants to meet program targets • Provide direct support to families, including guidance, system navigation, and referrals Client Support & Program Operations • Build strong, supportive relationships with clients in both community and office settings • Maintain accurate records management and outcome tracking systems • Monitor client progress and ensure continuity of care and support • Contribute to program development, evaluation, and continuous improvement Community Engagement & Partnerships • Represent the organization at community events, meetings, and outreach activities • Build and maintain relationships with community organizations and service providers • Provide program information to clients, partners, and stakeholders • Collaborate with internal teams to align services with broader mental health initiatives This position description reflects the general duties of the role but is not intended to be a detailed description of all duties. Requirements / Qualifications * Post-secondary degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Education, or related field, or equivalent experience * Minimum 5 years of experience working with vulnerable populations, including direct experience supporting families * Fluency in English (spoken and written). * A second language is considered an asset. * Strong program planning, facilitation, and community engagement skills * Knowledge of trauma-informed practices, cross-cultural communication, and community resources in Calgary * Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation * Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search Work Conditions • Work is performed in office and community settings, with regular travel required within Calgary • Fast-paced environment requiring leadership, adaptability, and strong time management • Frequent interaction with clients experiencing complex situations requiring a trauma-informed approach What We Offer Your wellbeing matters here.
