Description

I am currently working with a Leading Midlands law firm who are seeking a Paralegal to support their busy Family team in their Head Office in Telford.
You will need to have significant experience dealing with Private Family Law work and be able to conduct tasks with minimal supervision. The successful candidate will initially be supporting fee-earners with private family law matters. You will need experience of working in a similar role within a Family department and be ready to hit the ground running.

The role -

  • Achieve budgeted KPIs and have a strong billing track record
  • To work both independently and as part of a team
  • Dealing with initial new client enquiries, allocating them amongst fee earners and signposting appropriately
  • Dealing with clients by phone, email and in person to progress cases
  • Diary management
  • Case management – under guidance of Lead Fee Earner
  • Seeing clients to take initial instructions and dealing with client queries to progress cases accordingly – with minimal supervision/input from Lead Fee Earner required (as and when appropriate)
  • Preparing initial drafts of applications, draft Orders and supporting documents for Court proceedings to a competent standard
  • Preparing bundles for Court in accordance with FPR/CPR
  • Attending Court for emergency applications
  • Preparing brief to Counsel (as may be directed by Lead Fee Earner) and collating relevant documents to accompany the same
  • Dealing with legal Aid Applications, costs application (POA1s), extensions, enquiries raised by LAA relating to cases (as and when applicable.
