PHYSICIAN, EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT & HOSPITALIST SUPPORT - BLIND RIVER

Guardian Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled physician to provide flexible and sporadic support for the Blind River site, which operates as a combined hospital offering emergency, acute care, and long-term care services. **MUST HAVE a Valid medical license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
This role is ideal for a physician seeking a balanced schedule with a focus on acute care, while complementing their existing Family Health Organization (FHO) contract. The physician will be responsible for providing coverage in the Emergency Department and, when needed, serving as a hospitalist for inpatients.

5. QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Licensing:
  • Valid medical license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
  • FHO contract is a prerequisite for this role.

  • Strong clinical skills in both emergency medicine and inpatient care.

Responsibilities
  • Emergency Department (ED) Coverage:
  • Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients presenting to the Emergency Department.
  • Perform timely and accurate assessments, diagnoses, and treatment of a wide range of medical conditions and traumas.
  • Collaborate with the ED team to ensure efficient patient flow and quality of care.
  • Inpatient Hospitalist Support:
  • Manage the care of hospitalized patients, including daily rounds, treatment plans, and discharge planning.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, specialists, and allied health staff, to deliver coordinated patient care.
  • Clinic Day Rate:
  • The role also offers opportunities for clinic work with a day rate, complementing the ED and hospitalist responsibilities.
  • Administration and Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records for all patients, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and provincial regulations.
  • Participate in hospital quality assurance and improvement initiatives as required.
