Welcome to Shawnee Medical Health Center, a modern and patient-centric family practice located in the vibrant city of Calgary. As a new clinic that opened its doors in June 2025, we are dedicated to building a foundation of comprehensive, compassionate and community-focused healthcare. We are seeking a dedicated Family Physician to join our foundational team and grow with us. This is a unique opportunity to build your own patient panel and help shape the culture of a brand-new practice.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
We are excited to welcome physicians from various backgrounds and career stages. We are specifically looking for:
· Established Family Physicians seeking a modern practice with strong administrative support.
· Final-Year Family Medicine Residents looking for a supportive environment to launch their careers under the guidance of an established physician.
· Physicians practicing in other Canadian provinces who are looking to relocate to Calgary and want a seamless transition into a new practice.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Doctor of Medicine (MD) from an accredited university.
· Eligible for or holding an independent practice license from the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA).
· Certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CCFP) is required.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to patient-centered care.
· Proficiency in the use of Electronic Medical Records (EMR). Preferable experience with AVA EMR.

· Provide high-quality, comprehensive primary care to patients of all ages.
· Conduct patient consultations, physical examinations, and assessments to diagnose and treat a wide range of health issues.
· Develop and implement patient management plans, including preventative care and health education.
· Order diagnostic tests, interpret results, and make appropriate referrals to specialists.
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using our Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
· Adhere to the standards of practice and ethical guidelines set by the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA).
