Job Summary
We are currently hiring full-time Family Practice Nurses (RNs) to join our collaborative health team. As key members of this model, RNs work cohesively alongside Physician Assistants, Physicians, Administrative Staff, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care.
This is a full-scope nursing position within a family practice setting. RNs are expected to lead independent clinical encounters under medical directives, support preventative care, contribute to diagnosis and treatment planning, and actively participate in longitudinal care. The role is well-suited for nurses who are confident practicing not only autonomously, but within a team, and are interested in growing their clinical skillset.
Key Responsibilities
· Conduct full intake appointments, vitals, and health histories
· Perform independent clinical visits (e.g., PAPs, ear syringing, cryotherapy, well baby visits)
· Provide lifestyle assessments and chronic disease management support
· Administer vaccines, injections, cryotherapy, ear syringing, and wound care
· Collaborate on diagnostic planning, care plans, and patient education
· Document thoroughly in the EMR, including independent notes and visit outcomes
· Participate in team-based discussions, CME sessions, and quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
Required:
· Bachelor of Nursing
· Active or eligible license with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing
· Medical Liability Insurance
· BLS Certification
· Clear Criminal Record Check & Vulnerable Sector Screening
· Clinical experience in a primary care setting
· Strong communication, assessment, and organizational skills
· EMR proficiency (Med Access) and strong digital documentation skills
· Ability to practice independently within the RN scope under medical directives
Preferred:
· Family Practice Nursing Certificate
· Experience with paps, cryotherapy, wound care, and preventative consults

Work Schedule
Permanent, full-time: 75 hours biweekly
