About PACT
The mission of Parents and Children Together is to actively contribute to the well‑being of families through programs, workshops, and activities offered to parents, expectant parents, caregivers, and their children. PACT Family Resource Centre is a welcoming space where families connect, learn, and grow together. We support families from all walks of life through play-based programs, parenting supports, and community connection.
Position Overview
We’re looking for a warm, outgoing, and reliable person to join our team as a Family & Program Support Worker. This part-time role involves working at both our Cole Harbour and Eastern Passage locations, depending on programming needs.
You’ll help run play-based and community programs, welcome families to our centres, and provide a caring connection for those who may be navigating complex life situations. You’ll also help identify when families might benefit from additional support and communicate those needs to the Executive Director.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and connect with families attending programs; act as a friendly, familiar face at the centre
  • Facilitate or co-facilitate drop-in playgroups and community-based programs
  • Support families from diverse backgrounds with sensitivity and openness
  • Refer families to the Executive Director when additional resources or supports are needed
  • Assist with general centre upkeep and program setup/cleanup
  • Represent PACT with warmth and professionalism in all interactions

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children, youth, or families
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel between Cole Harbour and Eastern Passage

Assets:

  • Background in family support, early childhood education, youth work, or related fields
  • Experience supporting vulnerable communities
  • Confidence working with a variety of age groups (birth to 19)

Working Conditions
This position involves light physical activity (e.g., setting up play spaces, sitting on the floor with children) and working in a busy, family-friendly environment.
