Squamish Nation is seeking a Family Programs Coordinator to join the Ayás Mén̓men Early Years and Youth Services team. This role plays an essential part in delivering culturally grounded, holistic programming that supports the well-being of Sḵwx̱wú7mesh children and their families. As Family Programs Coordinator, you will help create safe, engaging, and nurturing environments that promote healthy development, cultural identity, and strong family connections. WHAT YOU’LL DO * Develop and implement daily programming and child-focused activities that promote physical, social, and emotional development. * Integrate Squamish language, culture, and traditions into programming. * Coordinate field trips, transportation, and family-centered activities. * Plan nutritious meals based on Canada’s food guidelines and complete related shopping. * Observe children’s development and contribute insights to the Early Years team. * Guide and support families in building healthy routines and parenting practices. * Provide social and emotional support to parents and caregivers. * Complete administrative tasks to support effective program delivery. * Maintain safe, clean, and supportive environments for children and families. * Collaborate with team members to achieve departmental goals and continuously improve services. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR * Certificate in Early Childhood Education (ECE); ECE Assistant or Responsible Adult certification may be considered. * Approximately 3 years of related experience in early years programming, family services, or community-based work. * Knowledge of Indigenous communities, social issues, and cultural practices; experience in a First Nations environment is preferred. * Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills. * High level of emotional intelligence, patience, and integrity. * Ability to manage multiple priorities, stay organized, and adapt in a dynamic environment. * Experience with Microsoft Office and database systems (JD Edwards considered an asset). * Valid First Aid & CPR and Food Safe certification. * Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
