To learn more about our work, please visit healthsolutions.org.  Program Description: Corona identifies expecting families in NW Queens at risk for child abuse, poor health, and/or child development challenges and provides intensive home visiting services. The goal is to provide positive parent-child interactions, practice positive parenting skills, increase family knowledge about child development and the use of health and social services, and to improve educational and/or employment status for the parents. Families are enrolled during pregnancy or shortly after birth and are eligible to receive program services until the child enrolls in school.  Specifically, the Family Resource/Support Specialist will:  * Facilitate prenatal, parenting, and health information.  * Promote optimal child development, enhance parent-child relationships, and improve the family support system through routine home visits.  * Provide resources, including but not limited to education, health, and support.  * Introduce and connect the families to community activities, including recreational, educational, and cultural activities.  * Engage in weekly, reflective supervision and teamwork.  * Participates in staff trainings and meetings.  * Maintain accurate case records in compliance with program, state, and federal guidelines.  * Complete all documentation and reports in a timely manner.  * Organize and facilitate parent-child socialization activities.  * Continually recruits and oversees the eligibility and enrollment of families.  * Model strengths-based interactions by accentuating the positive; assist families in identifying and setting short- and long-term goals.  * The Family Resource & Support Specialist will work closely with the management team to ensure that the program is an engaging and rewarding place for staff to work and has a culture that promotes continuous learning and improvement.  * Other duties as assigned.  Qualifications and Skills:  * Associate degree in Early Childhood Development, Health, Social Work, or related human service field, preferred.  * Must be bilingual (Spanish) with strong writing and speaking skills.  * At least two years of experience in home visiting and working with low-income, racially and ethnically diverse urban families preferred.  * High level of maturity and experience working with children (0-5 years old) and their families.  * Strong knowledge of early childhood development, parenting skills and development of parent-child relationships, preferred.  * Must have sufficient English and computer skills to be able to do substantial documentation of case work on the computer.  * Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends as needed.  * Must be willing to provide year-round home visits throughout the community.  * Must be willing to travel and walk long distances to complete visits. * Be flexible in accommodating families’ schedules to complete the visits. * Must be willing to support peers in covering home visits when needed/requested. * Must be familiar with the areas of Elmhurst, Woodside, Corona, Jackson Heights, Long Island City and Astoria.  * Must be willing to travel and stay overnight/ or for days when needed for required trainings.  * Salary - $27.69 - $27.69  Benefits:        •     Hybrid Work Schedule.        •     Generous Paid Time Off and Holidays.        •     An attractive and comprehensive benefits package including Medical, Dental and Vision.        •     Flexible Spending Accounts and Commuter Benefits.        •     Company Paid Life Insurance and Disability Coverage.        •     403(b) + employer matching and discretionary company contributions.        •     College Savings Plan.        •    Ongoing trainings and continuous opportunities for professional growth and development.   At PHS, we place immense value on diversity within our teams, understanding that varied backgrounds and experiences significantly enhance our community and propel us toward our goals.
