For over 125 years, Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens has been providing quality social services to the neighborhoods of Brooklyn and Queens, and currently offers 160-plus programs and services for children, youth, adults, seniors, and those struggling with mental illness.
Our Early Childhood Development Centers provide free Early Head Start and Head Start services to low-income families. Head Start provides services to children age 3 to 5 years old. Through the Montessori approach, the center ensures children are ready for school by providing a variety of developmentally appropriate activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, language-literacy and physical development.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent.
  • B.A. in Human Services/Social Work preferred.
  • Family Development Credential preferred
  • Two years of experience in a human services related field; preferably in an early childhood setting.
  • Knowledge of consolidates databases preferred.
  • Must have the knowledge and ability to relate to Funding Source Families, staff, board, community in which applicant will serve.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English; Russian/English; Chinese/English; Korean/English; English/Creole speaking preferred.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
  • Able to travel to different locations throughout the five boroughs including but not limited to conducting Home visits.

Responsibilities
  • Maintains a yearly updates community resources binder, in agreement with the demographic changes within the community.
  • Plans and implements appropriate orientation into the Parent Education Program and Parent Involvement Program for new families.
  • Coordinates recruitment and registration of new families.
  • Responsible for ensuring the completion and organization of the reports.
  • Provides assistance to families.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
