What You’ll Do As a Family Services Specialist, you’ll: Manage all aspects of family partnerships for the center in alignment with the Head Start Act, Performance Standards, and family services best practices. Implement the Parent, Family, and Community Engagement (PFCE) Framework, fostering positive, goal-oriented partnerships with families. Develop respectful family partnership agreements that promote well-being and strong parent-child relationships. Support families in areas such as health, safety, mental health, financial stability, education, and career growth. Empower parents as their children’s first and most important teachers—collaborating with classroom staff to extend learning into the home. Build trusted relationships with parents of children with disabilities, ensuring they have the tools, knowledge, and voice to navigate the special education process. Conduct home visits, provide parents with resources, and advocate for inclusive practices in partnership with teachers and community organizations. Who We’re Looking For Education: Associate degree or bachelor’s degree preferred (Social Work, Education, Human Services, or related field). Experience: Previous work in family services, case management, or related fields. Head Start experience a plus. Skills: Strong relationship-building, communication, and organizational skills. At a minimum, the applicant must be willing to obtain a Family Development Credential within 12 months of hire. Bilingual Spanish English strongly preferred. Physical requirements include extended periods of time sitting or standing, ability to lift 50 lbs., ability to stoop, bend, and perform other actions commonly associated with caring for young children and infants and visiting families.
