The Opportunity Our Family Team is looking to recruit an experienced Family Solicitor (2-8 PQE ideally) to join us in any of our offices. We are seeking someone who is confident managing their own caseload, comfortable working independently, and equally able to collaborate within a supportive team environment. The role also includes involvement in business development, such as attending networking events, building local relationships, and helping to identify new opportunities for growth. The successful candidate will handle a varied caseload of privately funded divorce, financial remedy, and children matters. Strong IT skills are essential, as the role involves working within a Case Management System. We are looking for someone with excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the confidence to work within a fast‑paced commercial environment. Key Responsibilities Effective management of Family files, both hard copy and within SOS. Progressing client work efficiently, ensuring clients are kept informed on outcomes, progress, and costs. Attending court, mediations, and meetings, preparing detailed notes and minutes as required. Ensuring confidentiality and security of documentation in line with Law Society and GDPR requirements. Achieving agreed billing and time‑recording targets. Managing the billing process and liaising with Finance. Drafting legal documents, including correspondence and court documentation. Supporting colleagues within the team when required. Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and operational development. Working towards team objectives and promoting the firm’s values. Actively participating in marketing and business development activities. Skills & Experience Experience acting for privately funded and HNW clients. Strong commercial awareness. Excellent attention to detail. Strong organisation and planning skills. Excellent IT skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, using initiative. Confidence in business development and building client relationships. Desirable Demonstrated leadership skills. Experience using the SOS case management system.
