POSITION OVERVIEW

The part-time Family Success Center Coordinator will play a critical role in supporting the overall operations of the Historic Anacostia Family Success Center. This position focuses on resource navigation, program support, and engaging with families to promote well-being and success. The Coordinator will assist with the day-to-day activities of the center, ensure families have access to community resources, attend relevant meetings and training, and help maintain a welcoming, supportive environment. This part-time position (25 hours/week) is contingent upon grant funds.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite, and comfort with data tracking software.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish, preferred.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS


  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

  • At least 2 years of experience in family services, case management, or community-based work preferred or a Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, education, or a related field (preferred but not required).

Resource Navigation

  • Serve as a point of contact for families seeking assistance with housing, employment, education, healthcare, and other basic needs.
  • Provide individualized guidance to families to identify and access appropriate resources and services.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of community resources and referral pathways.
  • Track and follow up on referrals to ensure families receive needed services
Responsibilities

Resource Navigation

  • Serve as a point of contact for families seeking assistance with housing, employment, education, healthcare, and other basic needs.
  • Provide individualized guidance to families to identify and access appropriate resources and services.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of community resources and referral pathways.
  • Track and follow up on referrals to ensure families receive needed services.

Family Success Center Support

  • Assist with coordinating and implementing workshops, events, and activities that promote family success and well-being.
  • Provide administrative support for center programs, including scheduling, participant registration, and data tracking.
  • Support the maintenance of a welcoming, organized space for families and staff.
  • Collaborate with the Family Success Center Manager and other Martha’s Table team members to develop and improve center initiatives.
  • Assist and collaborate with community members/groups, including serving as the backup liaison to Historic Anacostia FSC Community Advisory Council.

Family and Community Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with families to foster trust and ongoing engagement.
  • Encourage family participation in programs and services offered by the center.
  • Gather feedback from families to inform program improvements and ensure services meet community needs.

Professional Development and Training

  • Attend regular meetings, training sessions, and workshops to stay current on best practices in resource navigation and family support.
  • Obtain and maintain certifications or specialized training relevant to the role (e.g., Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), trauma-informed care).

Collaboration and Advocacy

  • Partner with community organizations and agencies to coordinate services and build resource networks.
  • Represent the Family Success Center at community meetings, advisory boards, and collaborative discussions.
  • Advocate for families by sharing insights and concerns with stakeholders and leadership.

Additional Responsibilites

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Attend at least 2 anchor events annually
