Position: Family Support Advocate
Job Type: Full Time
Salary: $25/hour
Life Span Range: $25/hour - $28.19/hour
Work Location: Lake Forest (South Orange County Family Resource Center)

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Option One: Bachelor’s degree in human services, psychology, social work, or related field from an accredited university and a minimum of 1 year of experience in working with children and families in crisis situations
• Or
• Option Two: A minimum of 3 years’ experience in working with children and families in crisis situations, i.e., domestic violence, child abuse, homelessness

Additional Requirements

• Proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
• Capable of relating well to individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, varied incomes, and education levels.
• Knowledge of public and private social services agencies.
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.

• Support effective coordination of services among service providers.
• Promote knowledge of and provide linkages to resources, services, and opportunities to improve self-sufficiency and
• Support families in following through with recommended services.
• Attend CMT meetings, present cases at CMT meetings, track all outreach efforts, and coordinate and communicate with the FRC Coordinator and CMT members.
• Takes the lead in the planning and execution of FRC events, Life Skills workshops, and special projects.
• Takes leadership in the facilitation of client basic needs assessment and linkage to emergency assistance resources.
• Attend all required meetings and trainings.
• Administer all AFK and FaCT-approved measurement tools.
• Data entry into the FaCT database (VistaShare) and Welligent.

General

• Maintains confidentiality in matters of agency operations, personnel, and clients.
• Maintains positive communications with all clients, agency and FRC staff and supervisors, partners, funders, volunteers, interns, and visitors.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Maintain files, logs, and other records in an audit-ready condition as required by the agency or funder.
• Support agency initiatives related to Trauma-Informed, Resilience-Oriented Care (TIROC) and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
• Produces high-quality, family support documentation and client success outcomes.
• Exercises good judgment in the performance of duties and responsibilities.
• Supports existing agency policies, principles, mission, and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) protocols.
• Weekly schedule includes evenings and some weekends.
• Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination.
• Other related duties as assigned.
