INTERVIEW DATE: 18TH AUGUST 2025
We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals to be part of our Family Support Teams as a Family support worker. One of these post is a Family Support worker in the Children with Disabilities team.
The successful candidates will be experienced in working with children and their families at all levels on the Need from Universal Services through to Children’s Social Care and skilled at undertaking CAF assessments (or equivalent).
The candidate will also work alongside the Social Worker, offering help and support to create lasting change with children, young people and their families who are in need, experiencing significant harm, and or subject of proceedings, or pre-proceedings.
The role will entail the candidate to be skilled in undertaking purposeful direct work with children and young people to really gain an understanding of their lived experiences and what support they feel they need to improve their daily lives and outcomes.
The role requires you to work collaboratively with families, in a strength based and trauma informed approach, and be empathic and support families to be aspirational. You will support families in becoming more resilient and develop greater confidence in their skills. We want the best for families and to help them to sustain change.
In order to accomplish all this for our children, young people and their families you will receive a thorough induction and training, regular supervision, annual appraisal and experience a strong and supportive team culture.
A relevant NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification in an associated field i.e. Child Care, Youth Work, Working with Children and Young People is an essential requirement of the role.
