KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A Bachelors qualification in Social Work or Psychology/ Aboriginal Health Worker / Community Welfare Worker or Master of Counselling.
- Post Graduate training in relevant child, adolescent and family clinical practice, family therapy and systemic thinking is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated and extensive experience and skills in assessment and clinical interventions and family centered practice with vulnerable children, young people and families with complex needs
- Clinical experience working with families/ adolescents strongly preferred. Proven highly developed interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence and excellent engagement skills.
- A track record of working collaboratively and the demonstrated capacity to negotiate and liaise with internal and external stakeholders including, DCJ, other agencies and the community.

Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Family Therapist with experience working with families, proficiency in therapeutic and counseling skills, and knowledge of child protection risk assessment to join our team. As a Family Therapist utilizing the FFT-CW model, you will provide in-home Family Therapy to client families referred by the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) due to child protection risks, with the aim of preventing out-of-home care (OOHC) placements. Holding and reducing risk in the family home is paramount in this role, where you’ll play a vital part in empowering families to create safe and nurturing environments.
This is a Permanent Full-Time opportunity based in Queanbeyan, NSW within our Children, Youth and Families Program. The position reports to the Family Therapist Supervisor
