ABOUT YOU

The ideal person we are looking for has:

  • Minimum Certificate III in Community Services, Early Childhood or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated commitment to working within a person and child safety framework that is client centered and trauma informed.
  • Excellent relationship building skills to maintain effective client relationships.
  • Proven experience and ability to respond appropriately to critical incidents and to clients presenting with complex needs.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, and good time management skills.
  • Computer literacy skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and simple databases.
  • Must be available to participate in a roster to work between 7am – 7pm, Thursday to Sunday, depending on program needs.

Successful applicants must complete a National Police Check.

You must also hold:

  • A current driver’s licence, and
  • A Working with Vulnerable People Card (ACT) and/or NSW Working with Children Check
Responsibilities

We are currently seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Family Worker to join us in providing supervised contact service that is impartial, trauma-informed, and child centered. Reporting to the Team Leader, your responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Conduct supervised visits and changeovers.
  • Transport children to and from visits, this may include occasional interstate travel.
  • Write up observational reports of visits according to program guidelines.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all clients within the parameters of duty of care.
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings and professional development.
  • Ensure that administrative standards are maintained in accordance with the program and organisation’s policies.
