Description About the Role We are seeking a Farm Activities Coordinator to support a unique, mission-driven program that combines hands-on farm work with meaningful engagement for adults with developmental disabilities. This role blends agriculture, animal care, and activity leadership, creating a dynamic and rewarding work environment year-round. From April through October, the role is primarily focused on vegetable/plant farming and outdoor work. During the winter months, the focus shifts toward structured, activity-based programming. Key Responsibilities Assist with vegetable farming operations, including planting, weeding, harvesting, and general crop care Support the care and well-being of small to medium farm animals (e.g., goats, chickens, pigs, rabbits, guinea pigs) Help create and lead engaging activities and programming tailored to individuals’ interests and abilities Foster a safe, inclusive, and person-centered environment that supports individual goals and dignity Assist with maintaining farm grounds, supplies, and activity materials Collaborate with staff and leadership to ensure high-quality programming and care What Makes This Role Unique Combines farming, animal care, and human services in one role Opportunity to make a direct, meaningful impact on individuals’ daily lives Seasonal variety: outdoor farm work in warmer months + creative programming in winter Compensation & Benefits This is a part-time (24 hours/week), fully benefited position, which is rare for farm-based roles. Responsibilities
The coordinator will manage vegetable farming operations and provide care for small to medium farm animals. Additionally, they will design and lead inclusive, person-centered activities for adults with developmental disabilities.
