Job Purpose:
Working within a farm team the Farm Assistant will assist in the day to day running of a large scale modern breeding unit and complete regular power washing duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Primary responsibility for power washing and hygiene maintenance across the site, including farrowing rooms, loading bays, walkways, and other critical areas to ensure the highest standard of biosecurity and cleanliness.
  • Ensuring clean and safe environments for livestock, contributing directly to animal health and farm productivity through consistent sanitation practices.
  • General animal welfare of the stock which would include inspections and observing of health issues.
  • Ensuring feeding and watering of pigs across the site.
  • Supporting within the breeding programme of pigs
  • Farrowing of pigs which would include vaccinating, grading and batching
  • Moving stock across the site when required
  • General farms duties including good housekeeping practice
  • Maintaining accurate Records of all appropriate information.
  • Adherence to all site Health & Safety, environmental and technical policies and procedures.
