JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking farm hand to help out at our Christmas tree farm. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic and is motivated to doing a good job. This role involves various tasks that support the daily operations of the farm, ensuring that all activities are conducted efficiently and safely. Once this individual has demonstrated trustworthiness and competence, we could consider on-site living for someone (or a couple) with an RV.

REQUIREMENTS

• The ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 70 pounds) as part of daily tasks.
• Mechanical knowledge is useful for operating and maintaining farm machinery.
• Background in horticulture is a plus for understanding plant care and growth cycles.
• Proficiency in maintenance tasks related to both equipment and facilities can be taught.
• Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment operation is necessary.
• Basic math skills are important for measuring materials and calculating needs accurately.
• A strong commitment to safety practices in all aspects of farm operations is essential.

  Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
  Expected hours: 16 – 40 per week

• Assist in planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops using hand tools and farm machinery.
• Perform heavy lifting as required for loading and unloading trucks.
• Operate a chainsaw and other farm equipment.
• Help with set up and maintenance of our retail sales area.
• Operate and maintain farm machinery, ensuring all equipment is in good working condition.
• Organize and maintain the workshop area to maintain a safe working environment.
• Working collaboratively with others.
• Monitor crop health and report any issues to the farm manager.
