If you enjoy working with food, building relationships, and being part of a close-knit team — this is the place for you.   The Role Fraser Valley Specialty Poultry is looking for a dependable, hands-on Farm Hand to join our team in Yarrow, B.C. In this role, you'll support the daily care and housing of our chicken flocks, while helping maintain a clean, safe, and well-run farm operation.     Key Responsibilities * Manage the housing and care of poultry from brooding to shipping * Ensure birds are fed, housed, and maintained in an appropriate environment with proper ventilation * Implement and improve farm practices to support quality, animal welfare, health and safety, and efficiency * Oversee and direct labour to ensure work is completed efficiently * Train and mentor staff using best management practices in animal husbandry * Ensure compliance with company animal welfare, HACCP, and Health & Safety SOPs, policies, and protocols * Maintain and improve farm-specific biosecurity programs * Coordinate and assist with the transfer and hauling of ducks and geese as required * Complete and submit required production, livestock, and staff records and paperwork * Proactively coordinate maintenance needs for barns and equipment * Maintain clean, safe, and orderly farm sites, including barns, driveways, and surrounding areas * Perform winter duties including snow removal, ice melt application, and sidewalk clearing * Develop and implement severe weather plans for cold snaps and extreme heat events * Perform basic inspections, cleaning, washing, and greasing of tractors, skid steers, and farm equipment * Oversee mortality composting processes to minimize odor * Order and schedule bedding, feed, and farm production supplies * Support maintenance or plant operations as required   What We're Looking For Required * Comfortable with physically demanding, hands-on farm work * Able to work independently and as part of a team * Reliable, safety-conscious, and detail-oriented * Willing to work outdoors in varying weather conditions * Weekend coverage availability as required   Why Join FVSP? * Work directly with a passionate, experienced team in the food industry * Family-run company with a long-standing reputation and loyal customer base * Meaningful role where your contributions make a direct daily impact * Real career pathways — we promote from within and invest in training. * Hands-on role where your attention to detail keeps customers happy and product safe. * A respectful, team-first culture that values a positive attitude and long-term fit. * Extended Health Benefits (Including, but not Limited to Chiropractors, Massage Therapy), Routine eye exam coverage, Dental, Life & Dependent Life insurance, Employee Assistance Program, Travel Insurance, Long Term Disability, and an annual Health/Lifestyle Spending Account). * Paid orientation * 20% discount at our retail store * A safe, food-safety focused workplace where teamwork matters. * Lunch items available at our retail store * “Tab” system at our onsite retail store for full-time employees       Relevant Experience: Any sort of food processing experience, forklift ticket, air ticket, WHMIS, food safe and first aid are all assets to this position but not required.
