Description Belstra Group Farms is a pig production organization with over 20 swine farm facilities located in Northwest Indiana. Belstra is in search of individuals to fill farm maintenance positions. The maintenance team is responsible for maintaining and repairing physical structures, buildings, and swine equipment such as automated feed systems, pens for animals, freshwater systems, etc. In addition, this team is responsible for moving building materials to designated areas. The maintenance member must work in compliance with all the company policies, local, state, and federal policies, laws, and regulations. Job Duties and Responsibilities (included but not limited to): General plumbing, welding & fabrication, electrical, and carpentry skills Routine equipment maintenance Use common hand and power tools as well as precision electrical and electronic testing devices Follow company guidelines for company vehicle usage Keep accurate work records and turn in paperwork daily or as required Following the Belstra Group Farms Animal Welfare Policy, and proper PPE safety guidelines Requirements Physical Demands: Regularly lift 50-pounds and at times 100-pounds Climb ladders and stairs and work at heights with good body balance Ability to regularly walk, bend, stoop, climb, kneel, crawl, crouch, etc. Occasional work near moving mechanical parts Exposure to swine environment Withstand exposure to seasonal weather conditions Work from ladders or at high areas of approximately 20-30 feet Skills and Requirements: Basic computer skills, in order to use a tablet for service software program Ability to work alone or as a team Education and Experience: High school degree or equivalent Technical training not required, but a plus Minimum of 3-years maintenance experience Must possess a valid drivers’ license, although transportation is provided from the maintenance headquarters to the worksite
